Bordeaux Estates, Aldi, and LNT Care Developments are bringing forward plans for a new food store and care home on Wolf Business Park.

The site, currently occupied by a car park and several businesses, will be transformed into a modern store, as well as a state-of the-art care home operated by Crystal Care Collection, LNT Care Developments’ sister company, a provider offering superior standards of living and support for residents. Collectively the proposals would represent £9.7m investment into the community.

Aldi – Part of your community

Aldi is proud to be at the heart of local communities across the country. To continue our community-led culture, we have set out several “neighbour-friendly” practices:

Aldi aims to recruit its store managers and store colleagues from the local area to further embed our store as part of the community, to enable us to understand and respond to local issues more quickly and effectively, and to allow our team a better work-life balance.

Aldi stocks a carefully selected range of core products. As a result, an Aldi food store will require only three to four deliveries per day. Aldi’s unique delivery system enables products to be transferred from the vehicle straight to store within the covered loading bay. There is no outside storage or movement of goods, minimising the potential for any disruption.

Aldi collaborates with the community engagement platform Neighbourly to combat the devastating effects of hunger and fight against child food poverty, ensuring no child goes hungry. Through this partnership, local charities, community groups, and food banks are paired with Aldi stores, allowing them to collect surplus food and perishable products up to seven days a week.

Aldi operates on a reduce, reuse, recycle basis across the entire business, right down to their waste. By reducing food waste by 57%, Aldi has hit its 2030 target eight years early.

We are proud to accept Free School Meal vouchers for the purchase of food and groceries.

Maintaining Aldi store jobs in Ross-on-Wye with the prospect of up to an additional 10 jobs at the new store paid at Aldi’s industry-leading rate of £13.50, above the National Living Wage.

A total car parking capacity on site of 114 car parking spaces, including six accessible spaces and nine parent and child spaces.

Eight electric vehicle charging points with additional infrastructure installed so a further 24 can be added in the future, as well as 8 bicycle spaces.

Additional employment opportunities created during construction and supported through the supply chain.

Attractive landscaping incorporated around the site to improve its appearance.

An investment of £7 million in the local economy.

LNT Care Developments – High quality care

LNT Care Developments is the UK’s leading developer of purpose-built dementia and residential care homes. The proposed care home would be operated by LNT Care Developments’ sister company, Crystal Care Collection, a provider offering superior standards of living and support for residents.

The proposed care home will create around 50-60 local jobs with competitive pay, plus opportunities for training and career development for team members, who are central to LNT Care Developments’ community.

The care home represents £2.7m investment into the local economy, using local contractors and suppliers where possible to boost opportunities and support the supply chain.

Most Crystal Care Collection residents move from within three miles, helping them stay connected locally. This also frees up family-sized homes for others, easing pressure on the housing market.

Care home residents are supported in becoming healthier, happier and more independent, taking pressures off existing local healthcare infrastructure and improving access to services for the wider community.

LNT Care Developments and Crystal Care Collection work closely with local community groups, taking care to integrate their care homes into local communities, working to deliver benefits for both residents and neighbours.

A state-of-the-art, three storey 66 bed care home managed by LNT Care Developments’ sister company Crystal Care Collection.

An investment of £2.7m into the local community.
